Discover new ways and possibilities: PiOT is a new, absolutely cost-effective, energy-saving and robust IoT Badge Terminal for the simple form of time recording.
Due to the integration and communication via Swisscom LowPower Network, PiOT also functions reliably where other devices reach their limits. There are barely any costs for acquisition, infrastructure and operation of the terminal.

PiOT ioT badge terminal
PiOT, the energy-saving, robust and compact IoT Badge Terminal, is installed at or in the chosen object and integrated into the (existing) network. PiOT works reliably via Swisscom LowPower Network (LoRa) even where other devices reach their limits. The terminal is equipped with an NFC reader for reading UUID badge tags.
Optimal and independent network coverage
Thanks to the integration and communication via LoRa, an optimal, independent network coverage is available. Neither WLAN nor SIM card are necessary for the transfer of the recorded bookings. The amount of data to be transported is kept low due to the network and monthly costs are minimal.

Easy installation with minimal infrastructure
PiOT can be integrated into any existing network and linked to the time recording solution - optionally with performance recording as well. Any number of PiOT terminals can be installed.
PiOT is battery operated and guarantees independent, powerful and long-lasting operation.
The identification of the employees and thus the NFC/RFID recording of the stamps is done by Mifare Desfire or Legic Advant Badges and can be assigned to the respective object by the local installation.

PiOT for all
Data protection & security
PiOT is used exclusively for the recording of working time - performance data recording on request - and does not collect any data from the building or personal data about individuals.
Film & sound
No film or voice recordings are made; neither camera nor microphone are built into the PiOT IoT Badge Terminal. Furthermore, the LoRa network is not designed for the transfer of large amounts of data such as image and sound.
Information on the location of the devices & data protection
No information concerning the location or the building is given to the end users.
For technical support reasons, uTerminal AG is informed about the various device locations and has access to and insight into the collected data. The data is treated in strict confidence and in accordance with data protection regulations. The end users of PiOT do not have this opportunity to view the data.
Security
The transmission of data is encrypted and secured from the node to the application (end-to-end). All recorded data relating to time management and service recording is hosted in Switzerland.

What does ioT actually mean?
The Internet of Things (IoT) is a collective term for technologies of a global infrastructure of information societies, which makes it possible to network physical and virtual objects with each other and let them work together through information and communication technologies.
Functions implemented with technologies of the "Internet of Things" allow the interaction between humans and any electronic systems networked through them as well as between the systems themselves. They can also support humans in their activities.

PiOT & ioT: a good team
The PiOT IoT Badge Terminal is defined as a collection terminal via a selectable provider such as Swisscom or thethingsnetwork.org. It is managed by authorized persons..
The bookings entered at the IoT Badge Terminal are transmitted online via the LoRa network of the defined provider. Then, in accordance with the definitions, the bookings made are transferred via the network of the selected provider to a target system. Neither the location of the IoT Badge Terminal nor that of the target system is relevant. All communication is fast and cost-effective.
